When you borrow it..

How to check out library books.
Before you borrow library books for the first time, please apply for a library card.
Anyone who lives, works and studies in Ichihara city is eligible to make a library card.
Then please make sure to bring any ID that includes your name and address
(e.g. Driver’s license, Health Insurance Certificate, e.t.c)
The card works on every branch library. (Please refer to the back of the card.)
When you check out library books and audio-visual materials,
please bring them with the card to the lending service counter.
You can borrow 10 books and magazines (except the latest issues) in total and
2 audio-visual materials for two weeks. You cannot borrow books with a red label in back
since they are only for reading inside the library. 
Please contact us when you lost books or a library card and when you changed your address,
name and other issues.

When you return it.

Please return the books, magazines and picture story items to the returning counter
in the Central library and branch libraries.
When the libraries are closed, please return them to the returning box.
If the books are too large for the box, please return to the counter.
And please return audio visual materials (DVDs, video tapes, cassette tapes and CDs, etc.)
to the audio-visual service counter on the 2^nd floor in the Central Library.

Service guidance

Reference service
We willingly accept any question and consultation about books you would like to read
and what you would like to research. Please do not hesitate to ask us anytime.

Reservation / Request
You may reserve books you would like to read while they are borrowed.
It is also possible to make a reservation on books through the webpages of the library.
If the books are not available, we may purchase or bring them from another library.

Copying service
You may ask for a copying service of this library’s documents only.
You will be charged for this service.

Events of the library
Lessons,lectures, movies, talk shows are always available in the audio and visual
hall or meeting rooms.

Document searching by the open terminal
The Central Library is linked with other branch libraries online.
You may know whether books you would like to read are located or not and
check out the location of the library.
You may also reserve one online.

Internet service
Terminal computers are available to visitors in order to go on an internet
for information searching.

Location of Branch Libraries

All the public halls and community centers have a library and they are all liked with the central library.
All the branch libraries accept a library card and you may borrow and return books in any library.
